Rosie Swinehart is a graduating senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington who will be graduating with Bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and Psychology with honors in May 2013. She plans to return to UNCW in August to complete her Master’s degree in Spanish. Rosie studied abroad in Chile for six months in the fall semester of 2011 and has also traveled to several other countries in South America and Mexico. She is active with the Office of International Programs on her campus to help both incoming students acclimating to life in the United States as well as UNCW students who are planning on studying in other countries. Additionally, she has extensive experience working with children at a daycare center where she taught Spanish classes to children through games and songs and at a gymnastics school. Rosemary is passionate about working with kids and watching their growth and is excited to have the opportunity to extend her abilities by working with the Good Samaritan.

Rachael Summers is a graduating senior at the Colorado State University Collge of Business, studing Business with a minor is Spanish. While working 15-20 hours per week, she has maintained a 3.3 GPA. Rachael is is a Certfied Massage Therapist and has volunteered at Crossroads Safehouse for battered women. Her teachers describe her as a motivated and enthusiastic learner- and a kind, generous, and compassionate person.

Nina Mercedes Rabin

Nina Mercedes Rabin is a recent graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and German. Having been adopted from the Dominican Republic, Nina hopes her time at The Good Samaritan give her the opportunity to connect with her culture and possibly also her biological family. Nina is looking forward to working with all the students and other volunteers at The Good Samaritan, and cannot wait to begin this adventure.

Michelle Paterick graduates in May 2013 from The University of Georgia, Athens with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. She spent last summer volunteering at  the House of Hope community organization in Kandaria, Kenya and currently works in the tourism industry.
